Scotlyn USA’s Ryan Carter earns SBA recognition in Florida

Ryan Carter, executive vice president and co-founder of Scotlynn USA Division Inc. has been chosen as the Small Business Administration’s Florida Small Business Person of the Year.

Ryan Carter, executive vice president and co-founder of Scotlynn USA Division Inc. has been chosen as the Small Business Administration’s Florida Small Business Person of the Year.

Carter and representatives of businesses in 49 other states were recognized in a virtual ceremony Sept. 22, during National Small Business Week.

He was first-runner up for the Small Business Person of the Year, chosen from all recipients of the state honors, according to a news release from the Small Business Administration.

Carter has a degree in economics and has more than 10 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. At 26, he co-founded the American division of Scotlyn, a logistics and transportation company based in Canada, and U.S. division in Fort Myers, Fla.

Carter has grown the company into an enterprise that specializes in transporting refrigerated produce, according to the news release.

Scotlyn has four offices in the U.S., with about 275 employees.
