FiveStar Gourmet Foods, Ontario, Calif., is donating 15,000 pre-packaged Simply Fresh brand meal salads to Feeding America.

Feeding America will distribute the salads to food banks in the region, to address food insecurity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release.

“Feeding America is committed to expanding fresh offerings to food banks in communities that are facing hunger in this difficult time,” Tal Shoshan, FiveStar’s CEO, said in the release. “We want to do our part to help provide more nutritious food to those who are struggling.”

Feeding America is the largest hunger relief organization in the U.S., according to its website, and serves residents through a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs. Feeding America has set up a webpage for coronavirus-related donations across the country.
