Instacart waives delivery fee for community impacted by California wildfires

The limited-time offer is extended to Instacart customers in Los Angeles County on all grocery and daily essentials orders of $10 or more.

Instacart says that, for a limited time, it is waiving the delivery fee on all grocery and daily essentials orders of $10 or more for Instacart customers in Los Angeles County, where the community is dealing with sweeping wildfires that have destroyed homes and forced evacuations.

Delivery subject to availability and delivery times may be delayed, as Instacart prioritizes shopper safety, according to a news release.

“We’ve been monitoring the wildfires closely and have halted operations anywhere with evacuation orders, area closures or store closures in order to keep shoppers safe,” the company said. “We will continue to monitor and halt operations in additional areas where safety is a concern. We’re also adjusting delivery times as needed given current conditions and to ensure the safety of the Instacart shoppers.”

To take advantage of this offer, Instacart says eligible customers can visit instacart.com or log in to the Instacart app from their mobile device. If their default address is set to Los Angeles, they’ll see a notification regarding the $0 delivery fee on all grocery orders with a $10 minimum spend. From there, select a store, add items to the card and go to checkout, where they’ll see the $0 delivery fee applied to the order.

“Thank you to everyone fighting the Los Angeles wildfires and to Instacart’s shopper community for delivering groceries to those in need during this unprecedented time,” the company said in the release.
