Ontario, Canada-based Crawford Packaging will introduce its GrowPack Net Trays at the International Fresh Produce Association’s upcoming Global Produce & Floral Show.

The pack offers a number of advantages, the company said on the IFPA show website:

  • Eco-friendly construction: One of the standout features of GrowPack Net Trays is their eco-friendly design, the company said. The trays use 50% less plastic compared to conventional trays, significantly reducing the packaging’s carbon footprint while maintaining product integrity, the company said, adding that the mesh design allows for easy washing, reduces waste and is unique in the produce packaging market.
  • Versatile compatibility: GrowPack Net Trays integrate with both top-seal and flow-wrap machines, ensuring hassle-free and efficient packaging processes, the company said. This versatility makes them a smart choice for a wide range of applications.
  • Sustainable PIR-PP construction and full recyclability: The GrowPack Net Trays are fully recyclable and also crafted from 100% Post-Industrial Recycled Polypropylene, making them a responsible choice for businesses aiming to reduce their environmental footprint, the company said.
  • Convenient stackable design: The Net Trays are designed for maximum convenience, stacking easily to save space and reduce handling effort while ensuring dimensional stability, the company said.
  • Enhanced venting for faster cooling: The 3D mesh structure in the Net Trays is air-permeable, facilitating faster cooling, the company said.
  • Compatible with plastic and paper sealing: The Net Trays can accommodate plastic or paper sealing, the company said.
  • Exceptional cushioning: The Net Trays not only protect products, but also provide cushioning to keep them in optimal condition during transit and on store shelves, the company said.
  • Weight reduction for cost savings: Reducing packaging weight is key to lowering transportation costs and minimizing environmental impact, the company said. “With GrowPack Net Trays, you’ll enjoy weight reduction per pack, further contributing to sustainability and cost-efficiency,” the company said on the IFPA show website.

Crawford Packaging will exhibit at booth No. 4305 at the IFPA show, set for Oct. 19-21 in Anaheim, Calif.
