IFCO says it has enriched its SmartCycle with two new integrations to streamline operations and elevate efficiency.

Delivery Tracking System provides real-time visibility into shipments, while the new time-slot booking system uses an online calendar updated in real-time to reserve a convenient time slot for delivery, according to a news release. The new solutions will cover 80% of crates moving in Europe, the company says.

IFCO says its fully automated delivery tracking system simplifies order processing, powered by telemetry solutions and GPS technology.

“At IFCO, we have enriched our SmartCycle, which powers our Reusable Packaging Containers (RPCs) pooling model, with the integration of DTS,” the company said in the release. “It spans growers, RPC distribution centers and retailers, fostering unprecedented transparency throughout the supply chain.”

With an integrated slot booking service, drivers and carriers can book convenient time slots in advance, reducing waiting hours and enhancing efficiency, the release said.

“Carriers can now reserve a convenient time slot for delivery, ensuring that upon arrival, gate staff only need to verify their vehicle’s license plate before loading cargo,” IFCO said in the release. “This change empowers carriers to plan routes more efficiently, minimizing wait times and reducing unnecessary phone communication.”

In other news, IFCO says it has launched IFCO Water Stewardship Program to optimize water conservation and management practices across its operations. The program aligns with the guidelines recommended by the Alliance for Water Stewardship.

By implementing its Water Stewardship Program, IFCO can effectively manage its water footprint, enhance sustainability and contribute to water preservation, the company said.
