Cincinnati-based flexible packaging and material science company ProAmpac says it has added UP Paper, a producer of recycled kraft paper in Manistique, Mich.

“The UP Paper team has done an incredible job building this great business. We look forward to building on their existing relationships and production expertise to serve our customer base with a broader suite of sustainable packaging products,” Greg Tucker, founder, vice chairman and CEO of ProAmpac, said in a news release.

ProAmpac said adding UP Paper will help the companies leverage combined expertise in fiber and film-based materials to create environmentally friendly flexible packaging products.

“UP Paper will expand ProAmpac’s portfolio of recycled paper packaging products and extend the company’s presence in growth-oriented end markets,” Kaitlyn Desai, principal at Pritzker Private Capital, a co-investor in ProAmpac, said in the release.
