USDA continues to bolster food system infrastructure
The USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service says more funding available to states as part of its Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program.
The USDA made available $5.5 million in grants for Idaho, $12.4 million for Ohio, $24 million for Pennsylvania, $5.9 million for Oregon, $6.9 for Missouri, $3.6 million for Maryland, $2 million for New Hampshire and $4.2 million for Arkansas.
The grants will help expand the infrastructure of the middle of the supply chain, the USDA said, especially in the areas of aggregation, processing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, distribution and more of food products in the respective states.
Grants applications are available through each state's department of agriculture:
- Arkansas, deadline Feb. 16.
- Idaho, deadline March 15.
- Maryland, deadline March 15.
- Missouri, deadline March 15.
- New Hampshire, deadline March 29.
- Ohio, deadline March 15.
- Oregon, deadline Feb. 29 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Pennsylvania, deadline March 30.
