UnitedAg, a member-owned agricultural association serving growers, packers, shippers and other agricultural businesses, has added three members to its board of directors: Jennifer Keegan of The Nunes Co. Inc., Tony Calleja of General Produce Distribution Co. and Austin Flores of Grimmius Cattle Co.
Collectively, UnitedAg says these new board members bring more than 100 years of combined experience in agriculture, business leadership and workforce management to the organization. Their backgrounds span finance, accounting, human resources, operations and agricultural leadership, offering valuable perspectives from across the industry, according to the association.
From managing complex business and financial operations to strengthening agricultural workforces and leading large-scale ranch operations, UnitedAg says their collective expertise will help it remain closely connected to the real-world needs of its members, their employees and the broader agricultural community.
Keegan is the human resources director for The Nunes Co., a family-owned grower-shipper of organic and conventional produce known for its Foxy brand. The Salinas, Calif., native has a degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resources and is both SHRM-SCP and SPHR certified. Prior to joining Nunes, she served as human resources director at Vegetable Growers Supply for 17 years.
Calleja is the chief financial officer of General Produce Distribution Co. and brings more than 45 years of leadership experience across finance, accounting, human resources, sales and operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from San Jose State University and an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University. His career spans the semiconductor, telecommunications, technology and private equity sectors, including leading organizations through IPO, recapitalization, M&A and successful sale transactions.
“We are pleased to welcome our new board members, whose experience across the agricultural industry will bring valuable insight to our company’s mission,” says Kirti Mutatkar, president and CEO of UnitedAg. “As growers and agricultural businesses navigate rising costs, workforce challenges and an ever-changing industry, their leadership will help us stay focused on what matters most: advocating for our members’ health benefits, strengthening their businesses and supporting the future of agriculture.”
