New York Supermarket pays PACA debt
New York Supermarket Inc. satisfied a reparation order issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture news release.
The Elmhurst, N.Y., company was cited by USDA in 2009 for failing to pay a $108,994 reparation award in favor of a New York seller.
The company can now continue operating in the produce industry upon applying for and being issued a PACA license. Deng Long was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business and may now be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee.
