Supervalu awards 2016 master marketers
Supervalu presented 35 awards to winners of its annual Master Marketer competition, with Karns Foods receiving the 2016 Grand Master Marketer award for consistent performance.
The awards were given at a ceremony during Supervalu's National Expo in St. Paul, Minn., according to a news release.
A $25,000 grant made payable to Karns Foods charity of choice accompanied the Grand Master Marketer award.
Country Harvest, Palmerton, Pa., won the award for fresh department for stores 30,000 square feet and smaller, while Shady Maple Farm Market in East Earl, Pa., won the fresh department award for larger stores. Quincy, Ill.-based Niemann Foods County Market won the fresh department award for stores with five or more locations.
"Year after year, we continue to be impressed by the quality, creativity and success of the campaigns nominated for the Master Marketer competition," said Mike Stigers, Supervalu's executive vice president of wholesale, in the release.
More than 450 marketing programs were submitted for consideration, with judging based on the creativity, clarity and effectiveness of the stores' marketing efforts.
