Grimmway Farms, Bakersfield, Calif., is offering a limited supply of numerous vegetables under its Cal-Organic label from its Southeast production areas.

The company has grown carrots in Cook County, Ga., and Live Oak Fla., since 2015, and opened its Southeast Regional Packing Facility in Sparks, Ga., in early 2018. Last year, the company acquired carrot and vegetable grower Generation Farms, Lake Park, Ga.

While Grimmway has offered carrots from the Sparks facility, this is the first year with a multi-commodity organic program, with almost 20 Cal-Organic vegetables, as well as conventional vegetables.

“For the first time, we’re offering an array of premium quality organic leafy greens, herbs, root vegetables and carrots and we plan to expand this regional planting next fall,” Bob Borda, vice president of organic sales, said in a news release.

Grimmway ships products ship to the Southeast and East Coast.

The company’s carrot program there includes baby carrots, cello and jumbo carrots in a full range of pack sizes, and industrial peeled chunk carrots, all in conventional and organic options, according to the release.

The Southeast organic season is expected to last through April, and conventional carrot items loading through May.

“We are pleased to provide our partners with faster shipping times and fresh, local produce during this season of regional availability,” Eric Proffitt, senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.

Carrots and organic vegetables at the Lake Park facility load from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays, by appointment only, according to the release. For sales, call 661-845-9435, and to book a loading appointment, call 866-328-6867.
