Hydroponic lettuce grower Pete’s, Carpinteria, Calif., has hired Jeff Mendelsohn as foodservice sales manager.

He has nearly 15 years of sales experience, most recently as national account manager at Taylor Farms, handling business development for foodservice operators and distributors. He was at Taylor Farms for 12 years, according to a news release.

“During my career at Taylor Farms, I was fortunate to learn a great deal about the produce world from industry leading professionals and am eager to leverage my experience as well as the relationships I was able to cultivate as I embark on this new journey,” Mendelsohn said in the release.

He will be based in Salinas, Calif., traveling between there, Carpinteria and Oxnard, Calif., several times a month.

“Given Jeff’s background, tenure and success in his previous roles, I have no doubt that he is just the person to help take our foodservice business to the next level,” Pete’s CEO Brian Cook said in the release.
