The Produce Marketing Association’s Nutrition & Produce Labeling Guide has been updated to include new rules from the Food and Drug Administration.
The resource, free to members, is available online at the PMA website, according to a news release.
The FDA’s compliance date for its new nutrition labeling rules was originally set for July 26 of 2018, according to the release. While that date has been delayed, the release said produce marketers can use the new label now or use the existing label.
The PMA guide offers nutrition labels for the top 20 fruits and top 20 vegetables sold in the U.S. according to the release. The resource also lists allowed claims related to health and definitions of terms like organic and fresh, according to the release.
