Auvil Fruit highlights rainier volume
The cherry crop for Orondo, Wash.-based Auvil Fruit will be similar but possibly a little larger than a year ago, said Ray Norwood, director of sales and marketing for the company.
In general, Auvil Fruit expects harvest timing four days later than last year, with a four-week supply of cherries, peaking on 9 row size, he said.
Rainier cherries account for about 85% of the company’s cherry output, Norwood said, with a few red cherry varieties rounding out the mix.
