December storms deliver modest increase in water allocations
California farmers and ranchers may have some modest relief in water allocations this year due to December rains. The California Department of Water Resources is increasing deliveries from the State Water Project to 15% of requested supplies for 2022.
That’s an improvement from last year when water officials provided just 5% of allocations. That was before the state cut off surface water supplies from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in August due to severe drought.
