New executive director for Canadian organic group

The Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network, Sackville, New Brunswick, a non-profit organization that promotes organic agriculture, hired Janice Melanson as executive director.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the team at ACORN,” Melanson said in a news release. “I feel very strongly that the work that ACORN has been engaged in for the past 17 years has laid an important and strategic foundation that will be pivotal to bringing about the critical change required to establish food security, not only in the Atlantic region, but for all Canadians.”

Melanson, who previously worked for Breast Cancer Action Quebec and Kidney Foundation of Canada, started in the position April 18.
