Subway has partnered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to promote its use of tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers from Florida.

Subways throughout the state will use Fresh From Florida advertising and marketing material February through April, according to a news release.

Subway purchased more than 74 million pounds of Florida vegetables in 2017.

Subway has nearly 1,500 locations in the state.

“We are excited to partner with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Fresh From Florida program to highlight Subway’s commitment to locally sourced, farm-fresh produce,” Staci Clark, Panama City-area franchisee, said in the release. “Our customers have a high expectation of high quality ingredients that are grown right here in our local communities, and this partnership ensures that we continue to meet those goals.”

“Florida’s hard-working farmers make it easy for everyone to enjoy fresh, local produce any time of the year,” Florida agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam said in the release. “I’m proud to partner with one of Florida’s largest restaurant chains to highlight the availability and affordability of Fresh From Florida products across the state.”
