NewStar Fresh Foods, Salinas, Calif., has a new website for the trade that highlights the company’s expansion into Mexico.

The site is at http://www.newstarfresh.com.

Anthony Vasquez, who became owner of NewStar in 2016, has focused on adding employees, technology, facilities and equipment, according to a news release, expanding the company’s footprint into food processing, manufacturing and ingredients for home meal kits.

“I am thrilled with the progress we have made in Mexico over the last 21 months and our new website personifies our vision of excellence in Mexico,” Vasquez said in the release. “We continue to focus on custom production while being vigilant in regard to reducing food waste, simplifying the supply chain and ensuring consistent portion control.”

NewStar’s Mexico operations are vertically integrated, with the company producing its onion seeds, using in-house logistics, with management and employees that move seasonally with the crops, according to the release.

“This is a significant point of distinction for NewStar, which enhances our ability to vertically control production from seed to shelf,” Greg Zelei, vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.
