Is working from home losing its charm?
As the pandemic continues, what are industry members feeling about how the pandemic has changed their work and home life realities?
How big a toll has “Zoom fatigue” exacted?
I asked the LinkedIn Fresh Produce Industry Discussion Group this question:
Has the COVID-19 pandemic increased or decreased the desire to work at home after it ends?
With about 50 votes cast, the poll reveals no big winner, with slightly more feeling good about continuing to work from home but with nearly four in ten stating they “need the office.’
Survey says:
- Increased: no need to go back: 43%
- Decreased: I need the office! 38%
- No preference: 19%
One commenter said while industry veterans can easily work from home, the tasks of mentoring and instilling culture are difficult to accomplish remotely.
Another said, “I think there should be a 4th option to find the right balance between WFH and Office, as businesses have developed through COVID-19. The Salespeople may travel more than Operational staff.”
