Vance Ehmke and his wife Louise live and farm in the High Plains of western Kansas on the farm that was homesteaded by Vance’s great grandparents back in l886. A past president of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and current member of Kansas Crop Improvement Association, the Ehmkes are strong believers in value added and niche markets as well as vertically coordinated business systems. They grow certified seed wheat, rye and triticale. Vance has BS and MS degrees from Kansas State University.

Jonathan is an emergency management coordinator with a passion for all things weather. He is currently a municipal emergency management coordinator in a primarily rural township. He also works in emergency management at the county level and in 9-1-1 communications. Jonathan grew up in western Pennsylvania and became interested in weather at a young age following a large tornado outbreak on May 31, 1985, during which his grandmother’s town was virtually wiped out. From that point on, Jonathan attempted to learn all that he could about weather, the atmosphere and environment. Despite being accepted to the University of Oklahoma’s meteorology program, Jonathan opted to stay close to home and attend Messiah College, where he pursued a degree in English with an emphasis on writing. He currently lives in south-central Pennsylvania with his wife and son.

Brock Schimbeno has nearly a decade’s experience using futures/options to assist producers in hedging their crops. He has developed in-depth knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis to coincide with his expertise in options strategies. Blackmore Commodities was founded as a result of Schimbeno’s desire to educate American farmers about the usefulness of options in their grain marketing strategies.

John Petrie (vice president, managing director and head trader for WCHS.) Oversees the daily operations of the Ag Marketing division of Walsh Trading Inc. John began trading in 1998, specializing in advanced options strategies, inter-market spreads and arbitrage between the open-outcry and the electronic futures and options markets. He has spent the last 6 years working directly with top agricultural and livestock producers and end-users to help to manage their risk associated with today’s volatile markets.

Justin is the Vice President of KIS Futures., an independent brokerage located in Oklahoma City. He focuses on agriculture and energy price risk management. Justin has been featured in agriculture trade publications, regional radio shows, and national newspapers.

Bryan Doherty, Senior Market Advisor, was raised on a grain and livestock farm in southeastern Wisconsin. After high school, Bryan served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He then attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. Bryan joined Stewart-Peterson in1989 and has been an integral part of the company for the past 18 years. Bryan manages a team of four skilled marketing assistants, including Joanne, Karla, Naomi, and Patrick. Bryan has been very involved with the growth of the company and is involved in the training and mentoring of new market advisors. Through Bryan’s intense mentoring program, new market advisors are coached not only to be expert marketers but also to provide quality customer service by matching marketing needs to individual farm needs. Bryan sits on the Stewart-Peterson Executive Committee and on the Market360 advisory team. Bryan also authors the Top Farmer Intelligence Report, a product of Stewart-Peterson. Top Farmer has been rated number one for corn and soybean recommendations several times over the last decade according to Top Producer Magazine. He has been a guest on the Successful Farming Radio Magazine Show and was recently featured in their magazine. Bryan is frequently interviewed by several farm broadcast stations to give immediate advice when there has been a critical turn in the market due to some newsworthy event or recent crop report. Bryan’'s articles have been published in numerous agriculture magazines and newspapers and is often quoted in various feature stories. In addition, he conducts numerous marketing seminars throughout the country each year with a strong following. Bryan and his wife Linda have four children. He coaches Little League baseball and is an assistant scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop.
