Originally from central Minnesota, Mark Jewell grew up around the aquaculture, dairy, and poultry industries. He attended the University of Minnesota, completing a B.S. in Agricultural Education, Leadership Training and Development. Carrying a deep devotion for agriculture he spends time working with young leaders of the National FFA Organization as a leadership trainer and speaker. His work has carried him around the United States, and Europe working to develop sustainable leadership training programs for young people. Always quick to pick up on the potential and talent of others, Mark has ventured into the World Wide Web to help free lance professionals share their skills with the agriculture industry. Vance Ehmke and his wife Louise live and farm in the High Plains of western Kansas on the farm that was homesteaded by Vance’s great grandparents back in l886. A past president of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and current member of Kansas Crop Improvement Association, the Ehmkes are strong believers in value added and niche markets as well as vertically coordinated business systems. They grow certified seed wheat, rye and triticale. Vance has BS and MS degrees from Kansas State University.

Jonathan is an emergency management coordinator with a passion for all things weather. He is currently a municipal emergency management coordinator in a primarily rural township. He also works in emergency management at the county level and in 9-1-1 communications. Jonathan grew up in western Pennsylvania and became interested in weather at a young age following a large tornado outbreak on May 31, 1985, during which his grandmother’s town was virtually wiped out. From that point on, Jonathan attempted to learn all that he could about weather, the atmosphere and environment. Despite being accepted to the University of Oklahoma’s meteorology program, Jonathan opted to stay close to home and attend Messiah College, where he pursued a degree in English with an emphasis on writing. He currently lives in south-central Pennsylvania with his wife and son.

Brock Schimbeno has nearly a decade’s experience using futures/options to assist producers in hedging their crops. He has developed in-depth knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis to coincide with his expertise in options strategies. Blackmore Commodities was founded as a result of Schimbeno’s desire to educate American farmers about the usefulness of options in their grain marketing strategies.
