The second annual “A Little Holiday Happiness Is …” campaign is designed to provide relief for consumers this holiday season with the chance to win $1,000 in groceries from a choice of retailers.

Stores will collect nonperishable food items and accept donations at the register for local food bank partners until Dec. 31.

The Chelsea, Mass.-based produce supplier says the additions will bring new capabilities and expertise to the organization’s rapidly evolving portfolio of brands and offerings.

“Show Us Your Sweets” invites home cooks and holiday hosts to showcase their best sweetpotato recipes in four contest categories: appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and innovative creations.

While epidemiologic and traceback data shows the likely source of an E. coli multistate outbreak is fresh, slivered onions served at McDonald’s, the FDA has not been able to implicate a grower at the time.

In statements congratulating the president-elect, the groups said they want to see their priorities addressed in the new administration, such as the farm bill, labor and nutrition.
