After a couple of weeks of inching toward No. 1, figs secured the ranking of most searched item on Produce Market Guide during the week of July 1, switching places with cucumbers, which had previously enjoyed two weeks on top. Watermelon and okra retained their rankings of No. 3 and No. 4, while blueberries and cherries switched places, with cherries at No. 5.

Dragon fruit and summer squash rejoined the top 10 last week, while interest in beets garnered the root vegetable the No. 14 spot. Interest in bananas — especially the burro variety — remained high, with the overall category earning the No. 17 spot. Searchers also wanted to know a lot about plums, as the fruit in general ranked No. 13 and the yellow variety secured the No. 18 spot. Organic watermelon rounded out the top 20.
