Salinas, Calif.-based Coastline Family Farms is launching onion production in Stockton, Calif., this year, said Robert Verloop, chief operating officer.

Coastline already had been growing onions in California’s Imperial Valley for several decades and, through a partnership with Echo, Ore.-based Madison Ranches and expansion in Imperial Valley, had grown to a year-round supplier, Verloop said.

“What started as a regional/seasonal program has now developed into a strong year-round fresh onion program through the partnership (MCO) with Madison Ranches in Echo Oregon (September-March), expanded Imperial program (April-June), and this year we are introducing a new program in the Stockton area (July-September),” Verloop said.
