Harold Paivarinta, senior director sales and business development for Red Sun Farms, Kingsville, Ontario, said the company “hit a home run” in the fall of 2018 with the launch of the company’s Sweetpops, a brand new bite-size tomato.

“We had put a lot of research and development in this product, including consumer research, creating a product (with) bold new graphics, innovative packaging design, and some fun advertising to support it,” he said.

He said the company expects to see continued growth in specialties product lines, fueled by the success of Sweetpops.

“In 2019 we are going to take what we have learned and apply it to additional new and innovative products.”
