Brooks Tropicals makes personnel changes to financial staff

Brooks Tropicals, Homestead, Fla., has made some personnel changes in its financial department.

With the retirement of Janice Kolar, chief financial officer, Tracy Cash has been named her successor. Kolar, who has been with the company for 26 years, was hired as controller and promoted to chief financial officer in 2008, according to a news release.

Cash takes on her new role at the beginning of 2021. She joined Brooks Tropicals more than 8 years ago as controller, running the day-to-day accounting operations, according to the release. Cash has been a certified public accountant since 1997, according to the release.

Mark Akinmade, who has financial experience with non-profits and the manufacturing, industry has been hired as controller.

Raul Garcia, who has worked at Brooks Tropical for more than 11 years as purchased and consigned fruit manager, has been promoted to assistant controller.
