California Giant hires director of foodservice

California Giant Berry Farms has created the new position of director of foodservice, hiring Tom Smith for the job.

Smith comes from Pro*Act and brings more than 10 years of experience in produce to the position, according to a news release.

"It was time for us to really place a stronger emphasis on this important part of our business with dedicated staff that can take us to the next level," said Anthony Gallino, vice president of sales at California Giant Berry farms, in the release.

Smith started on Feb. 20. Complementing the existing sales and marketing staffs. He focuses on targeting new customers in the foodservice segments, and grower and vendor relationships, according to the release.
