U.S. Foods wins two big defense supply contracts

U.S. Foods Inc., Los Angeles,  has been awarded a maximum $90.3 million contract for full-line food distribution on Navy ships in the San Diego area.

The contract, with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, is a 310-day bridge contract with no option periods, with an Aug. 15, 2020, completion date, according to a news release.

Port Orange, Fla.-based US Foods Inc. also was awarded a maximum $56.1 million contract for full-line food distribution for Department of Defense customers in Mayport, Fla., and the surrounding area, according to the release.

The contract, also with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, is a 262-day bridge contract with no option periods. The foodservice contract includes locations in Florida, Cuba and the Bahamas, with a June 27, 2020, contract completion date.
