Veronique Sallin, co-founder of IMG Enterprises Inc., parent company of Vero Beach, Fla.-based IMG Citrus, is Florida’s 2020 Woman of the Year in Agriculture.

Sallin is vice president of sales and marketing and the director of organizational development for IMG Enterprises. The family-owned agriculture and land management company, established in 1979, also owns ornamental tree farm Cherrylake Inc., a landscape contractor.

In announcing the annual honor, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried said Sallin is an “avid believer and proponent of Florida grapefruit’s taste and superiority” and helped the state’s crop to record export levels to Europe, according to a news release.

Sallin has pushed Florida citrus into other foreign markets and shortened and streamline the supply chains, creating new sales channels and selling directly to retailers in Europe and Japan, according to the release.

“Ms. Sallin’s unique leadership, passion, and commitment continue to influence and broaden markets for Florida’s signature citrus industry while breaking barriers for generations of female agricultural leaders — I am honored to recognize her accomplishments and service to our state’s agriculture industry.”

Sallin will receive the honor at the Florida State Fair in Tampa in 2021.
