Northeastern retailers, growers, marketers and other produce professionals may soon be saying “I wanna hold your hand” in a handshake to each other, accompanied by some quite familiar tunes.

There will be no “Strawberry Fields,” but there will be a performance, Re-Live The Beatles: On-Stage Tribute Band, at Eastern Produce Council’s John J. McAleavey Annual Gala, April 1 at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, N.J.

The live music follows an extended cocktail hour and dinner buffet from 7-9 p.m.

Guests will also enjoy a deejay, photo booths and a dessert extravaganza.

This annual event is the main fundraising effort of the EPC, enabling the council to continue to support worthy causes and organizations in the produce industry and the community.

EPC Executive Director Susan McAleavey Sarlund’s father, John McAleavey, served the council as its executive director for 25 years. After he died in 2015, the event was named in his memory. This will mark the EPC’s 56th Annual Gala.
