Conversations at United — Jonas Alvarez with Sweet Seasons

Pharr, Texas-based wholesaler Sweet Seasons spoke with booth visitors at United Fresh Live! about its recently opened online store and kept an eye out for producers and tech companies with which it could partner.

“We are always looking for new technologies and ways to extend the shelf life of product,” said communications representative Jonas Alvarez. “It’s always good to look around to see what new offers are out there.”

Alvarez anticipated meeting more people on the platform in the days ahead, an opportunity expanded with the show being free this year.

He noted that the virtual format seems to present a more even playing field for exhibitors.

“Although we do have different tiers of booths and presentations that are available, in a way you can sense that it is easier to visit or to notice exhibitors that perhaps in a physical trade show you would not notice so easily,” Alvarez said.
