Perrysburg, Ohio-based Dillin Automation Systems Corp. has completed a Pallet Load Accumulation System for Double Diamond Fruit of Quincy, Wash.

Dillin’s Pallet Load Accumulation System can sort mixed cases of various stock-keeping units via barcode then send the cases to the appropriate location assigned to each specific SKU, according to a news release.

The system uses multiple levels of conveyors stacked vertically, according to the release, to preserve floor space. The cases are sent to the appropriate level with a case elevator, which is designed to discharge cases at the levels the SKUs dictate. Cases are accumulated in each specified level, and the system monitors all levels for case quantity.

Once a location has accumulated a complete pallet load of product, the cases are released to one of two downstream palletizers.
The system is fully automated and communicates with the palletizers, “telling” them which SKU is being delivered next, according to the release.
