Limes from Mexico, Colombia and Peru give SiCar Farms plenty of options for consumers, said Jackie Carrillo, director of sales and marketing for the McAllen, Texas-based company.

The company, which is a large Mexican lime supplier, uses Apeel Technologies coating to prolong the shelf life of limes.

Besides limes from Mexico, Colombia and Peru, the company also offers tropical fruit, grapefruit and oranges from Mexico.

The company has several sustainable initiatives to support the planet, Carrillo said.

The tight supply situation in Mexico makes it valuable to have limes from Colombia and Peru. In addition, Carrillo said the firm offers lemons from Mexico, Argentina and California. Mexico features lemon volume from about May to December, she said.
