The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed an administrative complaint against JLD Inc., doing business as North Country Wholesale.
North Country Wholesale, North Conway, N.H., failed to pay $260,260 to 18 produce sellers for product from April 2018 to January 2091, according to a news release about the alleged Perishable Agricultural Act violations.
The company can request a hearing, and if the USDA finds the company violated PACA rules, it can lose a PACA license for three years, or two years with a surety bond. Principals of the company can be barred from being employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee for two years, or one year if the USDA approves a surety bond.
