Naturipe Farms is the largest producer of organic blueberries in the world, and sales are still headed higher, says Brian Bocock, vice president of product management for Naturipe.

Bocock said Naturipe Farms offers a full line of USDA-certified organic berries and avocados sourced from farms that are certified organic and located throughout North and South America.

“We saw another strong year of growth on our organic blueberry program, allowing for organic ad promotions,” he said.

Organic sales continue to climb higher, he said.

“We do expect the organic berry category to see some growth each year, though the rate of growth will depend on how the overall economy performs and how consumers react to inflationary pressures,” he said.

Bocock said Naturipe Farms will see continued growth in its organic volumes over the 2022-23 season.

“The increase in production will allow us to offer bigger pack styles for retail promotions,” he said.

Sustainability standards

Naturipe’s grower, Hortifrut Peru, is the first audited company to be certified against the Sustainability Standard v1.5 for blueberries at its Hortifrut Peru S.A.C. farm operation in Trujillo, Peru, he said.

“Sustainability is a priority in every aspect of Naturipe and farming operations, and Naturipe’s Cultivate with Care program showcases the company’s commitment to researching, testing and implementing best practices for the field,” Bocock said.

Whether conventional or organic fruit, Naturipe is meeting the needs of its consumers, he said.

“As a society, people want to know more about where their food comes from and how it’s grown,” he said. “Naturipe tells consumers a lot about where and how the berries are grown from both our labels and our digital media platforms. Consumers know they can expect high-quality berries, conventional and organic, from Naturipe.”
