Tapping into the growing demand for fresh snacking options, the 2024 Organic Produce Summit has added a new session to discuss the rise in organic produce snacking.

This session, “Biting Into Organic Fresh Snacking Opportunities,” is set to explore how companies in the fresh produce industry can expand their businesses in the snacking realm, according to a news release.

Faith Garrard, executive director of fresh at Raley’s, is slated to moderate the session alongside panelists David Bright, vice president of marketing at Grimmway Farms; Angela Hernandez, director of marketing at Trinity Fruit Co.; and David Baxter, director of marketing and business development at Bard Valley Date Growers.

OPS says the panel will share insights on growth opportunities and challenges, discuss how to identify successful items, size and portion control, promotional strategies, pricing challenges and consumer taste preferences.

The event, set for July 10-11 in Monterey, Calif., also features field tours for retailers and buyers, a morning yoga session and a community service initiative, called Seed to Service, where attendees help pack 1,000 bags of fresh produce to be delivered to families in Monterey County, Calif.
