The U.S. Department of Agriculture has scheduled a web seminar on the Farm Service Agency’s Organic Cost Share Program.

The seminar is at 1 p.m. Aug. 20; registration is online.

The USDA recently announced cuts to the reimbursement rates, from 75% of the organic operation’s eligible expenses, down to 50%; the $750 per-scope reimbursement rate was dropped to $500.

“Due to expected participation levels and the limited funds available, FSA revised the reimbursement amount available through fiscal year 2023,” according to the USDA’s announcement on the cuts.

Changes are outlined in the Federal Register.

The web seminar on the cost share program, and how to sign up, will be recorded and accessible a few hours after the event is over, according to a news release.
