Flamm Orchard Sales Inc., Cobden, Ill., has finished installing a new packing system that includes 12 apple baggers that can be operated by four workers, said Mike Flamm, an owner and vice president.

“The old way, you had somebody on each machine,” he said. “It’s a lot more accurate, and I’m not overfilling my bags.”

Flamm previously installed a new sizer, color sorter and electronic grading system.
