PMA, Bayer Crop Science seminar focuses on variety breeding

The Produce Marketing Association has a free web seminar on product innovation and better tasting fruits and vegetables, with consistent quality.

The web seminar, at 1 p.m. Eastern Aug. 27 will feature plant breeders and a grower discussing what’s happening behind the scenes to improve tomatoes varieties, according to a news release from the PMA.

The seminar is sponsored by Bayer Crop Sciences; registration is online.

Speakers in the seminar are:

  • Chow-Ming Lee, consumer sensory lead at Bayer Crop Sciences;
  • Tomas Lomas, tomato breeder for Bayer; and
  • Matt Quiring, director of sales for Nature Fresh Farms.
