7 appointed to National Mango Board

The National Mango Board has 18 members, including eight importers, one first handler, two domestic producers, and seven foreign producers.

The USDA has shared seven members appointed to the National Mango Board.

The National Mango Board has 18 members, including eight importers, one first handler, two domestic producers, and seven foreign producers. Members can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.

The member appointed for the first handler position will begin their term immediately and serve until Dec. 31, 2024, according to a news release. All other appointees will serve three-year terms, effective Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2026.

The newly appointed members are:

  • District II Importer — Jiovani Guevara, Phoenix.
  • District II Importer — Christopher A. Ciruli, Tubac, Ariz.
  • District II Importer — Rodrigo Diaz, Rio Rico, Ariz.
  • Domestic Producer — Rod Chamberlain, Mecca, Calif.
  • Foreign Producer — Karla Leticia Palafox Garcia, Michoacán, Mexico.
  • Foreign Producer — Sofia Wong, Piura, Peru.
  • First Handler: Luis Gabriel Cintron, Miami (1-year term).
