Bland Farms hires Sam Burleson for NE sales, marketing role

Sam Burleson has joined Vidalia onion grower Bland Farms, Glenville, Ga., as vice president of sales and marketing in the Northeast U.S.

Sam Burleson has joined Vidalia onion grower Bland Farms, Glenville, Ga., as vice president of sales and marketing in the Northeast U.S.

Burleson was most recently at F&S Produce Co. Inc., Rosenhayn, N.J., serving as vice president of sales and marketing for a total of almost 11 years. In between that position was a two-year period as vice president of sales and marketing for the Univeg Group.

His background is diverse, with 30 years of performance-driven sales and marketing strategies to increase product awareness, market share and profitability, according to a news release.

Burleson has known the Bland family for 20 years, according to the release.

“He has a great eye for new business opportunities and an exceptional ability to develop and maintain good retailer relationships,” Delbert Bland, president, said in the release. “We are excited to add Sam, a well-respected veteran, and his business and product development skillset to the team.”
