Jonathan Sparks has joined Oxnard, Calif.-based Bobalu Berries’ sales team.

Sparks most recently was in sales at California Giant Berry Farms, where he was for 3 ½ years. Before that, he was a senior sourcing representative-berry category manager for Robinson Fresh, where he was for almost seven years. He’s also been involved in produce sales at Green Star Produce Marketing and Drobnick Distributing.

“We are methodically building our program and targeting key customers as long-term partners promoting Bobalu brand berries to the consumer,” Anthony Gallino, vice president of sales at Bobalu Berries, said in a news release. “We have been very thoughtful about who we add to our team that will help take our program to the next level.”

Sparks works from a Salinas, Calif., area home office.

Brothers Bobby and RC Jones, managing partners at the company starting in 2017, have been transitioning the grower into a fully integrated company. Western Veg Pro has managed sales and logistics for the Bobalu brand, and will now be a strategic customer as Bobalu Berries takes over sales duties.

“This has definitely been a challenging year for everyone across the country with so much uncertainty about the future,” Bobby Jones said in the release. “However, we have been pleasantly surprised that demand for our berries has been on the rise and that Jonathan is excited about being part of our future as we expand our company and brand presence in the marketplace.”
