California Giant appoints VP of sales

Tim Youmans has more than 20 years experience in the produce industry and will be in charge of promoting customer relations and executing go-to-market strategies.

Watsonville, Calif.-based grower, shipper and wholesaler California Giant Berry Farms has named Tim Youmans as vice president of sales.

Youmans, who will report to company president Joe Barsi and drive market expansion efforts, has more than 20 years of produce industry experience, according to a news release. That includes serving as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Root 24 Farms and as vice president of sales at Driscoll’s, where he oversaw the category development team and sales in retail, wholesale and foodservice channels.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tim Youmans to our team,” said Joe Barsi, president of California Giant Berry Farms. “Tim’s proven track record in developing and implementing successful go-to-market strategies will be invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate in the berry industry.”

California Giant Berry Farms said Youmans will lead the strategic and tactical execution of go-to-market strategies, focusing on driving topline revenue growth and enhancing. The grower, shipper and wholesaler said his responsibilities will include promoting customer relations and mentoring the next generation of commercial business leaders.

Youmans holds a degree in engineering and brings experience in leadership in commodity sales and product development, the release said.
