Coastline hires Ryan Laughton as VP of crop production

Coastline Family Farms, Salinas, Calif., has hired Ryan Laughton as vice president of crop production and grower relations.

Coastline Family Farms, Salinas, Calif., has hired Ryan Laughton as vice president of crop production and grower relations.

Laughton previously worked at Growers Express as production manager and River Ranch Fresh Foods, according to a news release, with responsibilities that included grower relations and harvest management. Most recently he was product development manager for vegetable seed company Vilmorin, according to the release.

His position is a new one at the company.

“Our client base continues to rapidly evolve as consumers have more options and become more discerning,” Robert Verloop, chief operating officer and general manager, said in the release. “We are a grower-owned farming company with our own direct sales and marketing organization and know first-hand the challenges of a dynamic marketplace and the need to constantly evaluate, monitor, adjust, and innovate.”

Verloop said Laughton will be pivotal in leading Coastline’s production and the focus on its Quality from the Field Forward program.
