Florida Classic Growers, Dundee, Fla., has hired Derek Rodgers in sales.

He has more than 14 years of experience in produce, half of that in citrus. Most recently he was in citrus sales at Premier Citrus Marketing and Green River Marketing. Before that, he was director of sales at Sweet Onion Trading Co. and a buyer at Freedom Fresh LLC.

Rodgers also was a produce buyer at C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc.

His hiring at Florida Classic Growers comes at a time of change for the company, according to a news release. The company has a new partnership with Riverfront Packing Co. LLC, The Packers of Indian River Inc. and Quality Fruit Packers Inc.

“Adding someone with (Rodgers’) knowledge and experience demonstrates our continued commitment to the future of the Florida citrus industry,” Florida Classic Growers President Al Finch said in the release.
