Kwik Lok names new COO

The Yakima, Wash.-based company has added John Skadorwa to its leadership team.

Yakima, Wash.-based Kwik Lok Corp. has added John Skadorwa to its leadership team.

Skadorwa will serve as chief operating officer upon the retirement of Jeff Scott, who is leaving the company after a six-and-a-half-year tenure, according to a news release.

Skadorwa has over 25 years of experience in a variety of industries including military, construction, energy, aerospace and manufacturing, according to the release. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has a proven track record in problem resolution, statistical analysis, operational excellence and project management, the release said.

Most recently, Skadorwa served as a program management director on Blue Origin’s BE-4 rocket engine program in Kent, Wash., which provides propulsion to next-generation launch vehicles. While there he focused on the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the engines produced, according to the release.

Before Blue Origin, Skadorwa worked in roles focused on cultural and strategic transformation, innovation implementation, continuous improvement, manufacturing execution and leadership development, the release said.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to join Kwik Lok and support them as they amp up the diversification of their offerings, as well as provide new and sustainable options for their customers,” Skadorwa said in the release.

Skadorwa has an MBA from Washington State University’s Carson College of Business.

“I want to thank Jeff Scott for his years of service to Kwik Lok,” Kwik Lok CEO Don Carrell, CEO said in the release. “He has advanced Kwik Lok’s production processes, contributed to our leadership team and developed a terrific staff. I wish Jeff all the best in his retirement. With John coming onboard I look forward to his invaluable problem-solving experience and his support of ongoing learning and the continuous improvement of our operations.”
