In this video, Eagle Eye Produce is putting the spotlight on Dylan Jones with its “Grower Spotlight” series.

Jones is not only farm manager at Eagle Eye, but also a potato grower himself, currently in the thick of potato planting in eastern Idaho. Jones grew up in a small farming community and has been farming his entire life. In the video, Jones demonstrates the planting process, as well as how this season has been different with water concerns and intermittent weather.

Potato-planting time is typically a favorite of growers looking to get back into the field after a long winter. But unprecedented challenges are afoot, too, with unpredictable weather, water concerns and rising input costs. Still, growers such as Jones help to provide optimism in the face of such hurdles.

As the growing season progresses, look for more videos in Eagle Eye’s “Grower Spotlight” series, highlighting farmers as they prep for upcoming watermelon, onion and potato harvests.
