Monterey Mushrooms promotes Juana Gomez to new HR role

Juana Gomez has been promoted at Monterey Mushrooms, Watsonville, Calif., to chief people and culture officer, a new position at the company.

Juana Gomez has been promoted at Monterey Mushrooms, Watsonville, Calif., to chief people and culture officer, a new position at the company.

Gomez joined Monterey Mushrooms four years ago. She previously was at Scaroni Family of Cos. as senior vice president of human resources. Before that, she was at Earthbound Farm for 22 years, in roles that included vice president of human resources and senior director of human resources. Her first role at Earthbound Farm was as a farm stand clerk.

Gomez is active in areas groups and causes, including Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance, Watsonville Relay for Life/American Cancer Society, and the Alianza Charter School, Watsonville.

“Her leadership style as a servant leader, collaborator, can-do attitude, positivity, and change agent are great examples for all of us to emulate,” Shah Kazemi, Monterey Mushrooms president and CEO, said in the release.
