The Oppenheimer Group, Vancouver, British Columbia, has been named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies for the 18th year in a row.

John Anderson, chairman and CEO of Oppy, credits the “Expect the world from us” philosophy that guides the company for the continued recognition.

“It’s been about a decade and a half since we introduced the idea of expect the world from us, and it remains incredibly relevant to the team,” Anderson said in a news release. “It enables us to manage our business with a clear purpose and understanding of where we’re going and how we’ll get there.”

The company lists 2018 achievements in the release, including launching the Frank & Able brand of greenhouse tomatoes-on-the-vine, developing demand for Zespri SunGold kiwifruit and adding value-added programs for kiwifruit and citrus in Western Canada.

“As our business continues to expand and evolve, we rely on our proven management philosophy to guide us as we grow,” Anderson said in the release. “By encouraging collaboration across all channels of our business, we can move quickly and decisively toward our goals.”

The annual recognition is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business Magazine, Queen’s Smith School of Business and the TMX Group.

Recipients of the designation will be honored at a gala in Toronto April 17.
