What is the single most urgent shift the produce industry must make today to ensure it remains sustainable and profitable in 2030 and beyond?

“The produce industry must become better at engaging consumers with meaningful and relevant stories. It is no longer enough to tell people fruits and vegetables are healthy; we need to educate and inspire consumers through the channels they use while delivering exceptional quality, eating experiences and convenience. If we do that well, we will build stronger demand and secure long-term growth for the industry.”

Emiliano Escobedo serves as president and CEO of the Hass Avocado Board, the organization responsible for investing industry resources to drive demand, deliver research, provide market intelligence, and support the long-term viability of the avocado industry in the U.S.

Under his leadership, HAB has expanded its impact through innovative programs, strategic partnerships, leadership development initiatives, and industry-wide collaboration.

Escobedo is widely respected for his commitment to advancing agriculture, developing future leaders and creating value for stakeholders throughout the supply chain.

When not serving the industry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their five children, who remain the center of his life and greatest source of inspiration.
